Singletrack to Success 15th anniversary
Yak’ei ts’ootat- good day mountain bikers and fans of the amazing mountain bike trails on Gopher Mountain- tagish: Chílíh Dzéłe’- łingit: Tsálgi Shaayi, commonly known as Montana Mountain here in our beautiful community of Carcross, on the traditional lands of Carcross/ Tagish First Nation. Can you believe it? Singletrack to Success is turning 15!!! 15 years of building and maintaining trails!!! For those of you who are not familiar with the project: Singletrack to Success is a Carcross/ Tagish First Nation project initiated in 2006 with the mandate to develop a world- class network of single- track trails on Montana Mountain, a sacred site of Carcross/ Tagish First Nation, while providing local youth with jobs. “Building a destination one trail at a time.”
15years! That calls out for a celebration and also for support! Our hope and goal is to raise $15000, so that our trail crew is able to continue working and maintaining the trails. Other ways to support S2S is to come and join or community celebrations in Carcross on September 4. and September 5. Starting at 11 am we will have bike events on September 4., and also skateboard events, in cooperation with BYTE on September 5. All this is accompanied by good food, life music, prizes and a community market. Come, visit, join and support us! We are looking forward to it! Gunalchéesh and thank you!
