Tess needs surgery

Tess is a lovable mutt belonging to my parents, Mike and Debbie McGinnis. She was adopted from a rescue organization in 2010 after a previous life as a "junk yard dog." 

Tess is now an older gal, but still young at heart. My parents recently took in a younger dog (Ripley) on a temporary basis, for a friend leaving an abusive relationship. Tess was, at first, not keen on this arrangement but in time became friendly with Ripley and finally decided to run and play with her. Unfortunately, this playful romp ended with Tess injured with a torn meniscus. 

Although we were hopeful Tess' condition would improve with medical management, she is unfortunately still in quite a lot of pain which is impacting her quality of life. We want to be able to get her the surgery she needs to fix this problem and feel better again, but we don't have pet insurance for her and the cost of surgery is more than we can afford during this difficult time.
