Lola's Best Life!!

Donation protected
Lola has had a short hard life. She was found starving in the streets of the Dominican Republic after being hit by a car. She was found dragging her back legs behind her on the concrete.  This caused significant wounds to her paralyzed legs.

She had no hope of a good life in the DR. So she came to Canada in December 2019. She has adjusted to being a Canadian but her back legs are still a serious problem.

She was fitted for a wheelchair but is also able to scoot around on the floor when playing with her fur siblings. Since her legs drag on the floor her old sores and wounds keep opening up. This despite having a special sack attached to her to prevent chafing. It isn't feasible to keep her in a wheelchair all the time.  So that means her legs will never heal up. Her vet, Dr. Dalliwall, at the South Etobicoke Animal Hospital, has recommended removing her back legs and tail. This decision was not made lightly. But without the ability to heal her wounds once and for all she is always prone to infection. This surgery will help with her mobility and reduce the risk of infection. Once healed she will be able to use her wheelchair and fly around the floor with her fur siblings without risk of opening her old wounds.

The surgery isn't cheap and we were hoping it wouldn't be necessary. But now that is we are asking for your help. Please support her. She is only 11 months old. She has her whole life ahead of her. But it needs to be qualify of life.

Thank you.
