Howard's Combat PTSD Service Dog !!

Hello, my name is Howard Cable. I am a combat veteran in need of a Service Dog for combat PTSD. I did a total of ten years in the United States Army with two combat deployments (Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn). In addition to serving my Great country, I was a Drill Sergeant for two years at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and trained over two-thousand future soldiers. I received an honorable discharged with 80 percent disability and have been out for about a year. I am diagnosed with combat PTSD, and depression. I have been hospitalized six times for suicide attempt and suicide thoughts. The South Bend VA system wrote me a prescription for the service Dog, however the VA doesn't recognize service dogs for combat PTSD.  The VA system will not help financially with my service dog. Currently, I am a full time student and intern coaching rugby at a local Christian college (Bethel, IN ) pursuing a degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science. With that degree, I can help with other wounded warriors therapeutically, spiritually and moral support. I am also contemplating selfless service like Fire Fighter or Police Academy school and ministry . Right now, I have  A and Bs with a GPA of 3.6. I seek help and counseling at my local South Bend combat Veterans Center and VA outpatient clinic.  I am active in church too. Having a service dog would enhance my mental health, a sense of security, a companionship, a best friend. Also, having a service dog will help with my anxiety and re-adjustment to civilian life. The Dog will redirect my attention during large crowds and help me be more accountable for my actions and thoughts. The Agency is called Northern Indiana Service Dogs. They are in Plymouth Indiana. Adjusting back to civilian life has been a struggle throughout the past year, but I am taking one day at a time with my treatment and praying . I want all my friends and family to be actively engaged, collectively helping me through my transitioning to civilian life. The total training and dog cost 8,000.00 dollars. I have been on the waiting list for a long time and serving this country was an honor. Donating just a little would be a blessing. Thank you!
