Howard/Smith Families Fire Relief

On Wednesday, December 20, 2017, a fire broke out in an appartment building in Vancouver, BC Canada. The fire left half of the residents homeless with the winter weather rolling in and mere days before Christmas. Among those affected were two families who lived in the suites below the one where the fire started which were severely damaged.
Renata Smith, a single mother who works full time to make ends meat supporting her two teenage children, Donovan(17) and Zada(14). At the time of the blaze the two children were home but quickly got out of the building safely. Renata was at work when she got the call and rushed to her children. In tears as they hugged each other, not because they just lost their home, but because they lost the ashes of her late mother/grandmother and all of her belongings.
Crystal Howard, a single mother and full time student in her fourth year in Bachelor of Social Work, supports her two children, Jade(17) and Ka'leo(5). At the time of the blaze all three of them where home. They heard someone running around yelling "Fire! Fire! Get out of the building!” so my Jade and her boyfriend went outside, and that's when Jade started screaming. Everyone got out safe, Jade barefoot, only to watch as the building burned and they would now be homeless and have to start from scratch.
My name is Chasity, from Vancouver, BC and I am relative of the two families. I hope to raise $6,000, $3,000 for each family in order to help them rebuild. Please contribute if you are able, any little bit helps. Funds will be used to support Renata, Crystal and their children in restoring their lives and assist them with costs of shelter and finding a new home, purchasing food, warm clothing, homegoods, etc. All contributions raised will be split equally amongest the two families.
