Expanding How to Report a Hate Crime Booklet

Hi Donors,
Completion of booklets for SF/OAK were done earlier this week and delivered on Wednesday night.
I went up to SF myself to make sure that these were delivered correctly, without any mishaps and met with non-profits and grassroots groups to be main distributors.
My printer was gracious enough to print out extra booklets for free, so a total of 8,500 booklets in Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese were produced!!!!
The following orgs/groups went through a vetting process and took action of safe-guarding the elderly at their own expense and has confirmed that these booklets will be distributed to the elderly first, which is my target audience. I walked the grounds of Japan Town and China Town in SF with SFFD and United Peace Collaborative, handing out booklets and talking to the community there.
They are doing MAJOR HEART work to help patrol the neighborhood and assist the elderly.
Most of the booklets have already been distributed by below orgs/groups to elderly homes, churches, health clinics, banks, food banks, rallies, etc.

Hi Everyone,
First off, thank you SO much for your support and donations in my effort to print and distribute How to Report a Hate Crimes booklets.
I wanted to give you all an update, so here it is:
The $12k that was raised for the SF/OAK region for booklets are in the works with a local print shop in LA that is minority owned. I was able to work out a deal (and meet some of their minimums to lower cost) and put an order for 8,000 booklets total for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Tagalog.
The Tagalog version is still being finalized and please note that creating new versions of the booklets take a LONG time and I ask for your patience in this. We need to get all the verbiage right before we print. This will be finalized within a week, then it will go into printing so that all booklets can be shipped out at the same time.
I have partnered with some NPOs in LA and SF, so we are working out the best way of distribution to the target audience (the elderly) with the quantity of booklets that we have. Once this is all finalized, I will update this GFM page, my website , and IG of locations of distribution by end of next week.

Thank you all so much for the continued support to this project. Due to the overwhelming demand for and increased visibility of the booklets, I increased my goal to $30K to support additional printing, shipping, and distribution costs for a 3rd round of Korean, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Spanish, and English only in LA/OC, SF/Oakland, NY and smaller areas around those major cities. The fundraiser will close when I reach $30K. If additional booklet requests or needs arise after the $30K goal is met, I will continue to work around the clock to coordinate additional booklets and update the Go Fund Me goal to support additional round(s) booklet costs according to demand. I hope it won't get to the point of needing additional rounds of booklets, but I am committed to helping the elderly Asian communities for as long as we continue to be the target of unnecessary hate and violence.
Since raising $12K towards my goal for SF/Oakland (1st round, I received around $1,321 for LA booklets), all of the donations will go exclusively to the 2nd round of printing, shipping, and distribution of the books and whistles to San Francisco and Oakland . I am finalizing details with a local printer for faster turnaround time and pushing for a discount in order to get these booklets out for distribution ASAP.
Please recognize it does take time to coordinate and finalize booklet costs with vendors, but rest assured 100% of your donation is going directly to these booklets and will be distributed to much-needed communities as quickly as possible. I will provide more updates and pictures as the booklets are completed.
Thank you for your continued support for my booklets and for other grassroot efforts and organizations dedicated to the safety of Asian communities. Let’s continue to look out for each other.

Thank you for taking the time to visit this page.
I created a 'How to Report a Hate Crime ' booklet in Thai , Korean , Chinese , and Japanese for the LA & SF's AAPI Community with the help of volunteers that I've never met, which speaks volumes. With the influx of hate crimes and incidents that are still not being accounted for, we need to take proper measures in order to protect the Asian community at this very sensitive time.
Printing/shipping cost is hefty and I've already printed out 1,500 copies each of the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean versions on my own for LA County with the help of GFM donors.
I am not seeking to raise money on these first sets that are already printed, but I really do need help funding for the 3rd batch of print production for the SF community.
1 booklet costs around $2.25, which includes whistles and the cost of shipping from Hong Kong. The cost of booklets to be printed locally is exponentially higher.
Vietnamese, Tagalog, Arabic and Spanish are still in the works but will be available in PDFs within a few weeks.
Once I have the funds and balance languages fully translated, print production will start so that these physical copies gets in actual hands by mid-April.
This is targeted for first generation (1G) immigrants to prepare for racial hate incidents/crimes in lieu of events due to the COVID-19 hysteria caused by the media.
Please help to share this with the older adults in your family and community. I know this is lengthy, but it's pertinent information to pass on.
They came here with a dream (the American Dream) to provide the next generation with a better future than they had and that took guts and SACRIFICE.
It's our turn to protect the older generation in our community.
Immigrants should know that they have rights as well- local PD, Department of Homeland Security and Department of Fair Housing and Employment will never ask for a person's immigration status when they are victims or witnesses of any crime, so they should never feel afraid of reporting.
For our beloved community, let's fight these acts of hate together.
