HOUSTON RELIEF FUND

Dear Friends,

Now that time has passed and the waters have settled (at least in our part of town) I am updating both the nature and the goal of this page.

With your support, the Kamin-Hansel Clan was able to make it to Houston with a big truck full of much needed emergency supplies. Just east of us and even in some neighborhoods in our back yard, rescue channels are still booming with calls for help as rivers continue to crest and the deluge of Harvey maintains along the coast. In most of Houston proper, people are beginning to deal with the medical, shelter-related and emotional aftermath.

The response from around the country has been tremendous. Material donations have been pouring in and shelters have been doing their best to coordinate delivery.   The journey ahead looks long. People are missing and in danger of growing environmental hazards.  Many thousands of Houstonians are now homeless. Others will need ongoing medical treatment they may not be able to afford and most face challenges that we cannot foresee just yet. So we are keeping this line open with the intention of directing the rest of this fund to community relief efforts in the coming days and weeks.

We don't think our platform is tax-deductible. We'd like to provide you with a few other options for community efforts we trust so you can donate there if you'd like:

Friends, we so appreciate your support. I have never quite witnessed such an incredible from neighbors across the city as I have these past few days. Houstonians are moved by the support from our neighbors far and wide, as well.

Thank you.
