Houston Music students & teachers

The pictures you don't see in the media are of the many instruments that are destroyed due to the flooding.  An instrument like a violin, piano or oboe is precious to so many people, they become like family.  

I am a violinist here in the Houston area and would like to give back to the musical community by fulfilling Houston Music teachers and students needs.  

When I first started this campaign, musicians across Houston were just trying to figure out what was damaged.  So I was asking anyone to donate while trying to contact colleagues to find out if their instruments and their student's instruments were ok.  

My first objective was to find students who's instrument was unrepairable from the flood and to help them get a new one before school reopened.

Now TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association is partnering with TBA, TCDA, TODA, ATSSB & TMAC) to provide a central website for music teachers on every level on every program.  Music teachers or students can go on one central website and list their needs.  People concerned for the arts like this Go Fund Me, can fulfill those needs directly to the person.  So we will be helping people all over in the Greater Houston area!  

This is where your donations at this "Go Fund Me" will now be helping.  The new website will be www.help.goarts.org and will be up and running in a couple weeks. I will be updating all of you on who and where your donations will be helping.  Thank you to all those who have donated this far!  Until the website is up and running I will be accepting more donations.

If anyone would like to donate an instrument in good condition, not cracked etc please contact me through the Go Fund Me Message Board.  I've already been able to give a donated Viola to Thompson Intermediate School
