Help feed Houston families in need for Thanksgiving.
4th Annual Basket Brigade!
Donate and deliver food baskets to provide a Thanksgiving feast to families in need throughout Houston. Volunteers are needed to support this family-friendly effort. You, your family, friends, and colleagues are welcome!
WHY:
The notion behind the Basket Brigade is that one small act of generosity on the part of one caring person can transform the lives of many. Our goal this year is to deliver as many baskets of food to families in need as we can.
TIME:
Saturday, November 17th, 2018, 9am. This will only take an hour or so of your day. If you can't make it on the day, you can drop off a basket(s) or make a financial contribution towards feeding Houston families.
PLAN:
9am sharp bring your filled and ready to deliver basket(s) (shopping list below). We will count baskets and give out addresses of families in need. If you want you can help deliver the baskets - you will get to see how excited and thankful the families you’re helping are.
DONATIONS:
If you can't make it to the event we will happily create baskets for you - email [email redacted]
RSVP as soon as possible so we can get an idea of how many people are attending.
BASKET SHOPPING LIST:
- Laundry Basket (a must!)
- Baking/Roasting Pan
- $10 Grocery Gift Card for Turkey or Ham –Please TAPE the gift card inside your basket for safekeeping!
- Can of Corn
- Can of Cranberries
- Box of Stuffing
- Box/Bag of Mashed Potatoes
- Can/Box of Gravy
- Can of Green Beans
- Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
- Onion Strings (French’s)
- Bag of Rolls
- Premade Pumpkin Pie
- Cookies!
- Mac and Cheese,
- Socks, personal items, and other household items to make a difference for the week of Thanksgiving!
