Housing for our mentally ill son
Donation protected
27 years ago our family was blessed with a 2nd son who was a very happy normally developing baby. At the young age of 3 years old he had a fall landing on his head on concrete causing a traumatic brain injury. After this fall we started noticing many changes in behavior and cognitive learning skills. By age 11 he was hospitalized for severe aggression towards a family member eventually he was diagnosed with severe bipolar, OCD, learning disabilities and adhd. After many hospitalizations for depression and suicidal attempts he experienced some traumatic things that we only recently were made aware of that further scared him as an individual giving him another diagnosis of PTSD on top of his other issues. We are currently looking for something closer to us but still give him the independence that he needs to feel as normal as he can be. He struggles daily with high anxiety, learning disabilities and insecurities so we need to find a small home or trailer that he can take care of on his own but have us nearby to provide help and support with managing his household. For anyone who has ever experienced a family member with mental health struggles we know you are aware of how hard daily life for the individual and any close family members can be. We ask if there is anyway you can help all donations are very much appreciated and will go directly towards a home for him.
