Housing for a Single Mom & Teen with Down Syndrome

2020 has been hard on all of us and I don't have words for all the hardship I am seeing around the world this year, and I pray for us all!

I am asking for help because my little family has been affected beyond what I can manage myself, and we are losing the place we have lived the past few years and are stuck without resources. I have no choice but to move - renegotiating my contract isn't an option for me. However, I don't have the means to move us without financial help.

The last year I lost my small art business, and I have not been able to qualify for Covid-19 funding assistance for businesses, and have been living off my savings and some personal assistance the past few months. We have also dealt with extra health issues this year that insurance and Medicaid does not cover, and I've had to pay cash from savings for treatment and medicines.

In order to move, I must pay for moving expenses, provide first/last month's rent, plus deposits, including extra deposits and a different set-up for my son's care-animals. He has Down Syndrome, and has relied on his animals the past 6 years, to provide comfort and companionship, and to teach him responsibility, compassion, etc. I cannot take this lifeline away from him, but his care animals also add significantly to the expense of getting into another home.

The time frame I have been given to leave and find another place is one month - plus this Christmas week.

We have no family at all, (my son's father is not in the picture), and our friends don't have means to help in this capacity. So I respectfully and humbly ask the community to help me during this difficult time, so I can continue caring for this amazing boy and provide him the home he needs.

I don't know what to offer back to the community - except that I commit to continue raising this boy to become an amazing, strong, intelligent, responsible, and compassionate member of our world. I also commit to offer prayers for each and every donor, for your needs to also be met, and to express my gratitude.
