Food Truck Owner Needs A Miracle!

Donation protected
My partner Cody and I are reaching out not just because we need help, but we also desperately want to help our employees.

We own and operate House of Hunger food truck in Minneapolis. We have been in business 4 years and employ 5 people full-time. We've had some amazing opportunities since we've started running this truck, including catering a movie shoot, feeding an Oscar-nominated actress for 9 days and almost getting sued by an 80's band! We also give a LOT to local GLBTQ and HIV/AIDS organizations as we're a gay owned/operated food truck that loves to give back and support our community.

Here's us featured in Lavender Magazine  this year.

But it's not going well for us right now...

In October, we suddenly went off the streets because we had a thorough inspection done on our truck and were told we need $15-20k worth of work on both the kitchen/business part of the truck (vandalism to our truck, leaky roof, back wall of truck coming loose, equipment damage from vibrations, exhaust system issues, generator needs to be replaced, etc.) and driving part of the truck (shocks are shot, frame of truck stressed and rusted, brakes are bad, tires need to be replaced and more.) to safely continue operating on a regular basis.

That ball of news not only stopped 90% of all of our income, but it also has horribly affected my employees because they are not getting paychecks. Usually at this time of year we rely on catering and such without the truck, but even that part of our business is almost non-existent this year and now everything has stacked up against us.

We're hoping for a Christmas Miracle this year! The most important thing to us right now is trying to do something for our employees that already have so little. All three of them have had a rough 2014 and all three of them are the bread-winners for their family. They are loving, kind and selfless folks, and every time I ask them to donate their time for all the volunteer work we do, they don't ever hesitate.

Please help us, and help us show a little love...
