Houseman's cooks, porters, waitstaff and managers are the lifeblood of our restaurant.
Though we were heartbroken to do so, we closed earlier this week to ensure public safety and allow our staff to take care of themselves and their families.
We'll be back as soon as we possibly can, but in the meantime, our team has been out of work since Sunday, March 15. Unemployment benefits for many of our workers do not amount to anything close to a living wage.
We have been so moved by how many of you, our customers and friends, have asked what you can do to help us. And this is it--donate to support our staff financially through this crisis.
100% of all funds will be distributed directly to our 26 employees and help maintain their health insurance coverage.
We'll invite everyone who donates $100 or more to our reopening cocktail party (date obviously TBD).
