Hello friends and family!

For those of you who know me personally, you know that my mom is my best friend and my number one cheerleader. She has always put others before herself and her needs. My mom is the kind of person that is hard to come by, she will never deny anyone a meal or a place to sleep. She has taught me so much about self-assurance and confidence, about being kind, and about working hard. She has endured so much in her life to ensure that I could have the opportunities and experiences I wanted with fear of failure. She always has a smile on her face regardless of how tired she is; she is always hopeful that good things happen to good people. I literally cannot thank her enough for being all around amazing.

On April 29th, 2019 my mom was the victim of an apartment fire (Read the news story here: https://bc.ctvnews.ca/dozens-displaced-after-coquitlam-apartment-fire-1.4401364) By the grace of God, she is alive and well, I couldn't imagine what life would be like without her. Her neighbours and herself escaped with their lives but she has lost all of her personal belongings and prized possessions. She is currently displaced from her home and has to rebuild everything that she has lost.

My mom has had a hard couple of years, being a single mom and raising me to be the woman I am today. Her partner recently underwent major surgery, and she has had to take time off work to be a caregiver and a mom. She has worked hard to help me through university so that I may have a successful future. Every day, for as long as I can remember, she has texted me good morning and good night, regardless of exhaustion or list of tasks at hand. She is a good mom and evidently a really good person; she did not need or deserve this tragedy to happen to her.  I hope that I might one day be able to repay her for all that she has done for me, but until then I am reaching out to my friends, family and acquaintances for help because we need help. I currently live out of province for school and cannot physically be there to support my mom so I am hoping that I can help her rebuild her life this way. If she is without a home, I have nowhere to go home to as well.

Any donation that any one of you can give will go a great distance for my mom. This unfortunate event has left her with an unexpected shopping list of furniture, appliances, medications and so much more. She could use all the support and love that she has given others over the years. If you know my mom, you know how much I love her.

Thank you.
