Home for 41 Children

24 years ago Cliff Jarrell had no intentions of starting a "Children's Home."  He and his wife were living in Nigeria and working for another organization, but the Lord had different plans.  In a poor area, where many children are born into families with AIDS and have no resources to care for them, babies are often abandoned or even burried alive.  Cliff and his wife begin to take children into their home and care for them.  It was not a "Children's Home," it was just a home filled with children.  After several years of faithfully caring for so many children, an organization was established to help them raise money to provide food, clothing, education and medical care.  The organization, The Nigerian Christian Children's Home Foundation, is run by volunteers, primarily from San Antonio, Texas, with an official 501-C3 and the ability for people to make tax deductible charitable donations.   One impressive thing about this organization is that 100% of the donations go directly to supporting the Children's Home.  There are minimal administrative fees and zero salaries.  Bruce Zilbert of San Antonio, TX is on the board as CPA for the foundation and you will notice his name as "beneficiary," which simply allows him to transfer the funds from this campaign into the account for NCCH.

Currently, the Children's Home, run by Cliff Jarrell and his wife Nkiru, cares for 41 children.  In addition to caring for these 41 children, they have an open door to their community, feeding many poor people and providing a safe haven and resources for others in need.  They currently rent a 12 bedroom, 12 bathroom house.  The rent is $10,000 per year (correction from my video - I misunderstood a previous conversation!  Oops!), but another company will be buying the house in 6 months and they will be forced to move and find new housing, unless we are able to raise the money to buy it first.  The house can be purchased for approximately $200,000 (depending on the value of the Naira at the time).  

My goal is to raise $200,000 to purchase this home, to bless Cliff and Nkiru, the 41 children they currently care for and the hundreds more that will come through their doors.  If 2,000 of us donate $100 each (think about it - that's only giving $2.50 to each child in their home!), we can do it!  James 1:27 says this:  "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you."  Cliff and Nkiru are perfect examples of such genuine faith.
