It has been specifically established to support efforts across the country to deal with the urgent need for resources and equipment to deal with the Covid-19 Pandemic. Many hospitals are overwhelmed in the hot spots, lacking basic equipment to meet increasingly an urgent situation. Many hospitals, medical clinics and other medical providers want to help, but there's no formal mechanism to see where the most critical needs are. Medical professionals everywhere want to help but there's going to be reluctance to see critical staff and equipment go out the door without assurances and protections against the needs of the communities they serve.
Medkits Now is being urgently established to help fill that gap. Our software company, Laserbeam Software, has over 15 years of experience delivering HR software for large companies. We're a small, tight-knit group with exactly the right experience to deliver a secure website for hospitals, medical centers and clinics. We took our existing software, that almost seems designed for this moment, and re-purposed it for an extremely important cause. Although we're putting our own money and resources behind this effort, we can't make it successful without your generosity. The Medkits Now exchange is up and running . But putting up a website that depends entirely on the participation of medical organizations will not be nearly enough to make it work.
