Hospital Medicine in Latin America

Donation protected
This January I will be traveling to Cordoba, Argentina to participate in clinical rotations at local hospitals. I will be working with local physicians and medical students in order to improve both my medical and Spanish speaking skills. This will provide me with the opportunity to gain a better understanding of a culture that is much different than my own, which will allow me to better communicate and connect with my future patients. My goal is to primarily work in the pediatric hospital,  so that I am able to observe and learn from cases that may not be as common in the United States.

This will be my first experience traveling to another country as a medical professional (although I will still be a 4th year student), so this is a great opportunity to gain practical skills that I will use for the rest of my career.

Unfortunately there are no options for financial aid currently available, so I will be funding this trip on my own.   If you would like to financially support my continued education and professional development as I travel to Argentina,  any and all donations are appreciated to help with the cost of the program and the flights to South America.

If you would like to know about this trip, where I am in life,  or just have questions in general please feel free to reach out to me and i'd love to chat about what is going on in my life.

Below is taken directly from the website of the program:

"CFHI’s Global Health Intensive in Argentina takes place in university town of Cordoba, the country’s second largest city. This survey program provides exposure to Hospital Medicine through clinical rotations at some of the oldest and most renowned teaching hospitals in Latin America, providing exposure to government programs serving uninsured patients. Take part in daily rounds alongside local healthcare personnel and join lectures and discussions on case studies with local medical students and residents. Rotations vary and may include opportunities to take part in focused physical exams and patient histories in infectious disease, HIV/AIDS, surgical care, oncology, dermatology, pediatrics or psychology wards. "
