Help Feed RideAbility Horses

RideAbility is asking for your help in feeding our partners in therapy...the horses. With the unusual weather the past two years, hay prices have risen (we are paying double for a bale of hay) and we are struggling to buy good quality hay. In addition to the weather affecting hay, it is also affecting our pasture, so we have been feeding hay all year long.
We feed approximately 90 bales per month of hay in the summer (our large drafts eat a bale a day) and around 300 bales per month in the fall/winter/spring. We use the smaller bales as they are easier to inspect to ensure we are feeding healthy hay and we don't need the large equipment to move the bigger bales and rolls of hay.
We keep this cost lower by using small pastures that we can manage, by doing everything possible to extend usage of pastures, by asking neighbors to drop the price of hay or delivery to help out and by using some complete feed to reduce the hay for some horses (this is also costly, but easier to manage).
The $10,000 we are asking for will help get us through winter. We work hard to keep our lesson fees affordable so that everyone has the opportunity to ride.
