Relentless Nikki Fund Raiser
Nicole Hein is the only female jockey in Saskatchewan and has been dedicating many hours each day, seven days a week, working tirelessly as an advocate and leading a movement to save the heritage sport of Thoroughbred Horse Racing for people in the province of Saskatchewan.
Nikki is a relentless advocate and dedicated ambassador for Thoroughbred Horse Racing.
The Agriculture zoned Prairieland Park Corp in Saskatoon, unexpectedly and without any prior notification announced the closure of Marquis Downs which is the only race track in Saskatchewan. This decision left more than 500 horsepeople out in the cold, without a track to race their SK bred and owned horse stock and has impacted 1000 jobs directly and indirectly.
Horse Racing in Saskatchewan is a 130 year old heritage sport, with fifth and sixth generation families, fifty percent are Indigenous people who have been racing horses for time immemorial.
The Horse Racing Industry gives back 37.4M annually to the province in agribusiness, economy and employment.
We believe you will never experience such diversity than at the race track and it is a part of our heritage worth saving.
Our goal is to raise $4000, which will provide support for Nikki to continue this initiative over the coming months.
To Horse racing people, advocates and those citizens with an interest in horse racing; please consider a donation of $10, $20, $50 or more. We are a community and together we are strong, it takes a village.
Thank you for your generosity which will help continue the movement to lobby the city officials and the provincial govt to work with us and help save horse racing.
