Horse Ability’s Fundraiser for an Indoor Arena

This fundraiser represents the kickoff of the center's pursuit to provide equine therapies for all participants, under cover, in all weather and seasons.

Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) Benefit Everyone
The physical, emotional, cognitive, and social benefits of EAAT are all encompassing for the participants, volunteers, and family members that are involved in the specialized and meaningful programs offered by Horse Ability at North Star Acres in northern Ontario, Canada.

Through EAAT, participants can gain a sense of freedom and independence, learn new skills, interact socially, experience unique accomplishments and create emotional connections with horses and people that offer acceptance and unconditional affection and create bonds that can last a lifetime.

About Us
Horse Ability is an Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies Centre located in Corbeil, Ontario; 3.5 hours north of Toronto and 4 hours west of Ottawa. We offer Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies programs that help individuals with challenges build self-confidence and improve their physical, cognitive and emotional health.

Our Team
We bring together people with horses, expert staff, families, parents and volunteers to create a community of hope and empowerment.
We are a qualified, compassionate team with strong ethics. We maintain professional equine business insurance and are a member of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH International) and the Ontario Equestrian Federation (OEF).

We need help with Funding for an indoor arena
Being located in Northern Ontario, Canada, we experience every type of weather. We currently do not have an indoor area under which to run our programs during inclement weather. At times, we must cancel our lessons due to extreme cold, snow, rain and extreme heat. By canceling lessons, most of our students are not able to participate in a session until the following week. This can be difficult for our students who look forward to seeing their horse friends each week. The horses and lessons provide a safe place where our participants are always accepted, encouraged and cared for. By missing a lesson, they miss out on this valuable time.

How You Can Help
You can help by donating towards our indoor arena and/or sharing our campaign. We have received estimates from $120,000 to $150,000 to build an 80 feet by 160 feet indoor arena. We need your help to raise part of the necessary funds to build this covered building. We're looking to start construction in August 2018. Any donation is greatly appreciated, no matter how large or small.
