Hope Village Startup Costs
Rogue Retreat's Board is moving forward to create Hope Village tiny house community for the homeless of Jackson County. We have built our first tiny house, have identified a piece of property to lease from the City of Medford and now we are teaming up with individuals, companies, churches, agencies and organizations to make this dream become a reality. We need your help!

A fully insulated tiny house kit costs $2,500. Sponsors will be needed to purchase kits once we have the property secured. We will create another GoFund Me Campaign once we are ready to start building!
THE PROBLEM = Homelessness
Jackson County has a large and growing homeless community. In the annual survey conducted in January 2015 there were 723 homeless people in Jackson County counted in emergency shelters, transitional housing and on the streets. People who were “doubled-up” with friends or family or “couch surfing” were not counted. There are many more who isolate and do not participate in the count. The homeless include all ages from children to senior adults. They come from all cultures, race and often from various economic background. Due to the current economic situation in our country, state, county and city the need is ever increasing with more individuals and families needing stable, safe housing. The strain and stress of the economic times are tearing more families apart by domestic violence, crime, abuse, abandonment, addiction use and mental health related needs.
AN ANSWER = A Tiny House Village
Across America tiny house villages are popping up in communities serious about address the homeless challenge. Those who find their way into a tiny house village have the opportunity to focus all their attention from trying to survive another night on the streets to seeking out the resources and opportunities they have to improve their lives and situations.
As participants work on their goals they move past their homelessness to become stable community residents who are an active part of the economic support system the city and county need.
Rogue Retreat has been serving homeless Jackson County residents since 2006. Rogue Retreat graduates have moved into private apartments, established and maintained jobs, enrolled in college, chosen to live a addiction free lifestyle and become stable citizens.
Rogue Retreat has been working with the Jackson County Homeless Taskforce made up of many wonderful agencies who all address the homeless and their needs. Rogue Retreat has also been working with civic leadership to identify property that can be used for Medford's first tiny house village. The cost of the property is $260,000 and will provide a permanent home for the homeless for decades to come.
Will you help us secure the property?
