Hope for Helen - Disney World Fund!

Do you see this beautiful child? Her name is Helen....she is just a little girl...a ten year old little girl with a disease name that is soo big that I can't even pronouce it. It's name is B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia ...see, I bet you can't say it either...her parents never should have had to hear the words, "your daughter has cancer" ...no parent should ever have to hear those words. No child ....ever....should have to hear those words!
Thankfully, the other words they heard was you need to go to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis....those were good words, not because she needed to go there, but because if you have the disease she has, its the BEST PLACE ON EARTH to be! It is also one of the top hospitals the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society funds researches for new medicines, cures and assists families with medical bills and care.
The people that have to go there never have to pay a single dime for anything....and the only way that happens is when folks like all of us, open up their hearts and their checkbooks to make sure that folks like Helen and her parents never have to worry about a single medical bill...because worrying about something called B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is enough!
I have made it my mission to run/walk in Helen's honor with the Team in Training group through LLS . I have completed over 3 half marathon's and many 10ks and 5ks to date in her honor at Walt Disney World or Disneyland. And what I realized is , as while I am doing these races, she is getting treatments and never has been able to be at the races to watch the team run in her honor or really just be a kid! Sure I send her pictures and videos, but it is just not the same as being there in person cheering on the runners and seeing all the masses of the purple Team in Training runners/walkers go by in your honor. So, our goal is to help Helen have some of her childhood back! And bring her with us to the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend in January 2015 to allow her to be an honored guest at all the Team in Training functions as well as be a kid and enjoy Disney in person!
I hope that each of you will take a moment to remember your first experience at Disney, meeting Mickey and Minnie and all the magic that happens there and help us make this special child's wish come true!
Please say a prayer for Helen and her mommy and daddy, Jamie and Brandon Forgey.....they need all of our prayers...they also need our support. I am also raising funds separately to donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise awareness, research cures and assist families and patients with cancer. So please make your donation to help Helen's wish come true to be an honored guest at Disney and help us raise awareness and funds for LLS and cancer...because some day...hopefully no child will ever have to hear..."you have cancer"
