After a routine eye exam the doctors discover a tumor at the base of Harlee’s skull. She has been diagnosed with a very rare type of tumor called a chordoma. About 1 in a million people a year get these skull based tumors and they have proven to be very difficult to remove. On October 9th 2017 Harlee has her first surgery in an attempt to remove her tumor. She underwent a 5 hour surgery that left her with a small section of tumor cells located near her carotid artery. Harlee was also left with nerve damage that has caused her left eye lid to remain shut. Harlee will under Go a second surgery on January 17th in an Attempt to remove the remaining tumor cells. We have stated this account in an effort to help raise money to try an cover current and future medical bills as well as 4-6 weeks of travel to get the follow up Proton Beam Radiation Therapy which unfortunately isn’t located in the Roanoke Valley. Our goal is to try and raise $15,000.00. It is also a goal of ours to try and help other families that might face this life changing cancer. You can follow Harlee’s progress on our web page at HopeforHarlee.com or on our Face Book page at Hope for Harlee .
