This is our beautiful niece, four year old Eva d\'Souza.
Eva has Rett Syndrome, a physically debilitating condition that has robbed her of control over her body. She has very little co-ordination of body movements and has almost no use of her hands. While Rett Syndrome also comes with reflux, scoliosis, gastro-intestinal issues, heart problems, and often epilepsy, Eva has remained an upbeat little gem. However, she requires constant assistance for every aspect of her life from the moment she wakes and for every single task until the moment she sleeps.
We are fundraising to buy her a piece of equipment called The Bronco Walker.
Using the Bronco Walker could be the first independent movement Eva will feel in her four years. She has been working very hard to learn to take steps but needs lots of adult assistance and she has never felt the freedom of being fully supported but \"hands free\" from adult help. The Bronco will support her under her bottom and around her hips and enable her to use her legs to get around the house without having to rely on her balance. For her to be able to get to the TV, toys and kitchen cupboard would make her one happy girl!
