Hope For Ashlee

If you have had the privilege of knowing Ashlee, you know how kind hearted and loving of a human being she is. Her laugh and spirit is contagious and her energy is infectious. She is so relatable, unjudgemental, understanding… she’s the person you meet for the first time and instantly connect with, like you have been friends all of your life. Ashlee and her husband, decided to embark in the process of starting a family. She always knew she wanted to be a mom and was diligent in routine checkups. Ashlee scheduled appointments with doctors and fertility specialist to make sure her body was in the best shape to prepare for carrying such a beautiful gift as carrying a child. While all her life, results were always normal, the most recent test results came in and they were not good. It was the call we dread as women, but never expect to get. Ashlee had, had regular checkups since she was 16, yet these latest results delivered devastating news. The results showed that she had cancer in her uterus and her ovaries. She now has to do emergency surgery to remove these organs in order to save her life. The excitement of beginning the chapter of starting a family is now replaced with sadness and fear. As her friend, I wanted to start this Go Fund Me page to raise money for Ashlee so she might still have that choice. These funds will be used to cover the costs for Ashlee to freeze her eggs. I want her to be able to have that option available to her because I know how bad she wants it and how amazing of a mother she will be. The multiple surgeries, tests, and future heartache this kind soul will have to endure… I can’t even begin to comprehend. Ashlee will be out of work for 6 weeks (at the minimum) for surgery and recovery. Health insurance does not aid or cover the cost of fertility treatments of any kind. I want Ashlee to have and to hold on to hope. After all the painful surgeries she will endure, I want my friend to have something to look forward to. When she expressed the desire to freeze her eggs, but the lack of funds to support this dream…. It broke my heart. Help me help give Ashlee hope and a choice, before that choice is taken from her.
