Hope and Help for Danny

A couple of years ago a woman named Evelyn came to work at our company as a housekeeper. She has been a joy to have around, with her bright smile and kind demeanor.

Evelyn has three sons she lovingly raised on her own. Their Father passed away with no warning several years ago. You never know how close you are to losing someone you love!

One of her sons, Danny who is now 28, started working with his Mother in housekeeping. Many nights I’ve stayed late and seen this young man working diligently, making sure everything was in top notch condition. He would always offer a smile and tell me “Hello.” If I asked if he was doing well, he would shyly, but politely say, “Yes Ma’am, thank you!”

Recently, when I've seen Danny working, he didn’t seem to feel well. Apparently, he was coming to work with migraine headaches and not telling anyone, making sure he didn’t miss time from his job. The headaches became more intense, so he finally saw a Doctor. That Doctor found that Danny had a brain tumor, which needed to be removed immediately! Four days later, he was having brain surgery, which lasted five hours.

Though the surgery went seemingly well, the recovery process has not! There have been major complications  causing Danny to be unable to speak or breathe on his own, keeping him in the Intensive Care Unit.

Evelyn, Danny's Mother, goes to the hospital every day before and after work. When she comes into our office, she tries to maintain a cheerful smile, but it's difficult to do. She worries about her son and what the next phone call from the Doctor will bring.

Today that call was telling her that Danny is still not able to talk or breathe on his own. As if the removal of the brain tumor wasn't traumatic enough, it appears now Danny will have another major surgery. The Doctor plans to perform a tracheotomy this week so he can breathe.

Danny's Mother, hasn’t been able to afford to take much time off work, but we believe the pain of seeing your child struggle should not be accompanied with the struggle of the medical costs! For this reason, a group of people are discretely working to help Evelyn and her son Danny. We have not shared this with them because they are humble and would never ask for help. Even so, we are quietly offering it!

If you would like to help with Danny’s medical costs and care, any and all contributions to “Hope and Help for Danny” would be a tremendous blessing!

Thank you!
