Hope For Animals International is a non-profit rescue organization. We are recognized by the IRS as a nonprofit organization. (IRS code: Section 501(c)(3)). HFAI is dedicated to the rescue of dogs /cats and finding their "forever" homes (via adoption). HFAI believes that medical and preventive care are crucial parts of rehabilitating our four-legged friends back to health. We are certain that once they have recuperated and are in full health, they can make the best companion you could ever ask for!
Alvin, in this case, had been transferred from another shelter to HFAI. He came with extensive hair loss across his back and abdominal section. The only areas not affected were his head and limbs. Alvin was immediately taken to the veterinary for a thorough health evaluation. The final diagnostic for his skin condition is alopecia. In the beginning, the vet told us that Alvin’s hair will not grow back, but that the affected areas can be protected. Along with his skin condition the veterinary doctor had discovered a large cataract in his left eye. We were then referred to see an eye specialist who then diagnosed Alvin with a cataract in his left eye. In order for Alvin to recuperate his full vision he will need a surgery. This surgery entails cataract removal, intraocular lens, hospitalization, medication and so much more. Your donation doesn’t only help us reach our goal to have Alvin one day recuperate his vision, but it also provides Alvin with a hopeful future of a healthy life.
We are also very happy to announce that Alvin has found a wonderful home! Alvin was adopt on 10/13/18 to a very loving family. He is currently adapting well to his environment and is enjoying a very bit of his new life. As you may recall Alvin was diagnosed with a cataract in his left eye. In hopes to continue to improve Alvin's life, Hope For Animals International is staying true to it's commitment. We will continue to campaign until we meet our goal which is to have Alvin retain is full eye vision back. Originally our campaign goal was a total of $3,000. However, the doctor has kindly reduced the costs of Alvin's eyes surgery by 25%. Help us reach our new goal of $2,250 which will cover the operation cost. Help give Alvin the gift of sight, a gift so powerful it can change his whole life.
