Hope through Cancer! Third time's a Charm.

Who is Hope? That’s easy to answer. She is a friend to just about anyone – She’s probably never met a stranger. She loves life. She loves people. And she loves to make people laugh. She is independent – started working at the age of 16. She didn’t grow up with much, and that had her value people over things. Perhaps that is why she has friends literally all over the world. If she is your friend – she’ll be your friend forever.

Hope is the kind of person that would rather be there for others than others be there for her. She just likes to be the one helping instead of the one receiving help. And if she could have it her way, she’d never ask anyone for anything.

But, Cancer has a way of changing one’s life. And for Hope that is one of the ways her journey through Ovarian Cancer has changed her. She has learned that asking for help, in a time of NEED, is not a sign of weakness. That it is ok to not be ok. And it is when you are at your worst that friends, family, and even strangers will step in to do whatever they can.

She saw that way back in 2011, when she was first diagnosed with late stage (3c) Ovarian Cancer. She saw that in 2019 when her dad died, and Cancer returned. And she has seen it this year when one of her beloved cats died, when she had to get surgery to remove a tumor as Cancer had returned once more.

And she suddenly and unexpectedly lost her best friend who was her mom to Covid19, when she herself got Covid19 and had to go into self-quarantine, and now as she goes into 2021 having to do the wretched chemotherapy yet again.

You would think that with all that has happened to her and now having to battle Cancer a THIRD time would, understandably so, have Hope down – even depressed. But that’s not Hope. She may be down from time to time, she’s only human. But you really can’t keep Hope down. She’s just someone that does her best to live by her name…HOPE!

Additionally, she lives by her faith. She loves God and thanks Him every day for the life that she still has. For she is very aware that not everyone diagnosed with late stage Cancer is still around nine years later. And she is incredibly grateful to be a Military Vet who has the VA taking care of her Medical Needs.

But it is her everyday expenses (i.e. car note, rent, phone, electric, etc.) that she will not be able to provide for. She lives alone, with her cat Spunkey, and will continue to be unable to work. Not just because of Cancer but because of Covid19  and her immune system making her more susceptible to get the virus again.

That is why this Go Fund Me page has been created. She is at a place of NEED. And that is not easy for her to admit. So, if you could give, whatever amount you are able to, it will make a huge difference as she (once again) battles Cancer for -- hopefully only -- the next four to five months.

If anyone would like to read about her story with ovarian cancer, she wrote a book, back in 2014, called HOPE through Cancer. She has a few hundred of them in her apartment that she would send to anyone that donates $15 or more. Once you donate you can send her an email with your address and she or a friend will ship the (signed) book to you.

Lastly, your prayers and donations are greatly appreciated. If you are unable to give, please share this link with those who may be able to. Or if you’d prefer to donate directly, outside of Go Fund Me, you can contact Hope at the email above.
God bless.
