Please contribute whatever you can to help meet the cost of staging the annual Hope over Fear rally for Scottish independence, which will be on September 21st at George Square Glasgow.

Hope over fear https://www.facebook.com/hopeoverfear2014/? ref=bookmarks  is a socialist campaign for Scottish independence which advocates and promotes a socialist vision for Scotland after Independence is achieved. Our volunteers have supported the idea of Scotland being restored as an Independent nation all of their adult lives.

Established in early 2014 our co-founder Tommy Sheridan toured the country speaking to audiences ranging from 100 to 600+ promoting the case for a Yes vote on 18th September of that year.

After the narrow referendum defeat the “official” Yes campaign was simply shut down leaving the grassroots, which we would argue is the majority of the Yes vote, rudderless and wondering “where do we go now?”

We at Hope over fear were not prepared to accept the narrative from the politicians that “it’s business as usual.” Instead, in an attempt to keep the flame of Independence burning, and in the space of less than four weeks, we organised a rally on 12th Oct 2014 in George “Freedom” Square Glasgow which attracted upwards of 8,000 people to help lift the spirits of the grassroots Yes movement and hopefully inspire others to continue the fight and declare that, far from being over, in the words of Gerry Cinnamon’s Hope over Fear anthem “It’s only the start of the show.” Mhari Black Mp and actor/director David Hayman amongst others spoke at the rally and like us urged the movement to continue the campaign for Scotland’s Freedom from Westminster rule.

We gave a commitment then that we would return to the Square annually until Scotland became Independent and unlike many of the political elite, we have honoured our commitment.

Prior to the 2015 general election we ran a successful campaign calling for the Yes family regardless of traditional political leanings to “Lend your Vote” to the Snp in order to maximise Pro- indy Mp’s from Scotland, furthering the cause of independence. Scotland returned 56 out of 59 snp mp’s at that election in order to “settle up” not “settle down”?

On April 25th 2015 we organised the hugely successful “Lend your vote”https://www.facebook.com/events/401561463337441/  rally in George Square. Prior to the event we were contacted by a facebook group called All under one banner, co-founded by Neil McKay and Andrew Gardener . We encouraged them to organise a march to join the rally, which was also successful and Auob have since grown in number and organised marches througho.ut the country

We also contacted the Yes bikers to support the rally, which they did and they too have gone from strength to strength, supporting all Indy events throughout the country with their number increasing each time.

We, along with others have endeavoured to keep the dream of Scottish Independence alive for the past 6yrs and believe we are now in the end game with the Snp Scottish government, having navigated the political pit falls put in their way, now committed and manoeuvring for #Indyre2.

Please donate what you can to support the rally and help us launch “The Final Countdown” to full Scottish Independence.

Thank you.
