HOPE Ornaments gathers, packages, and delivers holiday ornaments to patients spending their holiday season in the hospital and assisted living centers since 2007. Thousands of children and adults spend their holidays in the hospital battling life threatening illnesses such as Cancer, Lupus, Epilepsy, Alzheimer's and Heart Disease.
HOPE Ornaments visits hospitals throughout Illinois, bringing the patients a little joy to their day by giving them their own HOPE ornament to choose and keep. Please help us reach 8,000 or more ornaments to donate to patients this 2020 holiday season. A complete list of hospitals we deliver to is available upon request.
HOPE Ornaments begins delivering to hospitals mid December and continues through Christmas Day. It was weighing heavy on my heart that HOPE Ornaments would maybe not be able to happen this year due to COVID-19. However, I have already had hospitals and assisted living centers reach out to me and ask for us to still donate ornaments to the patients / residents. This was the best feeling in the entire world to know that the staff recognizes how much these ornaments bring HOPE and love to those in need. Now more than ever, patients spending their holiday season in the hospital and assisted living centers are alone because visitors are no longer allowed in most cases due to COVID. To assure the safety of not only the HOPE Ornament volunteers & their families – but for the patients and their loved ones as well, we will be making some changes in how the ornaments are distributed.
Ways to donate are:
ORNAMENTS: Store bought ornaments that we will deliver to patients spending their holiday season in the hospital. Each patient will get to choose and keep and ornament. Whether it is one ornament or several, every ornament will bring joy to a patient in need. Due to infection control of the patients, we can only donate newly purchased ornaments. MONETARY DONATIONS: Will be used to purchase ornaments and the supplies needed for the gift wrapping of the ornaments. You can donate directly on GoFundMe – HOPE Ornaments. We will post pictures of the ornaments bought with these donations on our Facebook page.
FAMILY & FRIENDS: Please reach out to family, friends, co-workers and neighbors. Projects for schools and churches are welcomed, please contact us for details or with any questions.
