<div>Not long ago, our life was stable and normal. We had a home, a future, and hope. We were caring for Sascha’s 95-year-old grandmother and our three beloved dogs — all an important part of our family.

<div>Then everything changed in an instant.

<div><strong>What happened?</strong>
</div>
<div>After what should have been a routine operation, Sascha developed CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) — an illness known as ‘the suicide disease’ due to the extreme, constant pain it causes. It is one of the most painful conditions in medicine, and every single day has become a battle against unbearable pain. Doctors have given us only a 5% chance of recovery, but we are holding on to hope.

<div><strong>Since then, our lives have been a constant struggle with:</strong>

<li>Excruciating, burning pain
</li>
<li>Loss of function on Sascha’s right side (and he is right-handed)
</li>
<li>Heavy medications, 24/7
</li>
<li>Fainting, insomnia, and sensory overload
</li>
<li>Certified Care Level 3 — fully dependent on daily assistance
</li>
<li>Work is impossible; Sascha collapses after just a few hours
</li>

<div><strong>What does Care Level 3 mean?</strong>
</div>
<div>In Germany, Sascha is officially classified as Care Level 3 out of 5:
</div>
<ul>
<li>He is permanently and severely disabled
</li>
<li>Needs help multiple times a day with basic tasks (washing, dressing, eating, medication, bathroom)
</li>
<li>Independent living is no longer possible
</li>
</ul>

<div><strong>Our financial situation – from security to survival</strong>
</div>
<div>In the last two years, we have spent over €60,000 on treatments, medications, medical equipment, countless doctor visits, and therapies — trying everything possible to relieve Sascha’s pain and regain some quality of life. We also faced surgery for one of our dogs, because for us, they are family and we couldn’t let them suffer. Every cent went towards survival, care, and love — until nothing was left.

<div>Now, our savings are gone, we are in debt, and we are at risk of losing our home.

<div>Private disability insurance denied our claim on a technicality. We fought in court — and lost. Now we face €15,000 in legal fees, and our legal insurance may also drop us, leaving us completely on our own.

<li>Grandma’s pension: €500/month
</li>
<li>Unemployment benefits (soon ending) Even our dogs may lose their home — they are our emotional lifelines.
