Hi everyone,
I’m starting this GoFundMe for my best friend, Michelle whose life changed suddenly in June 2025. After experiencing an unexpected seizure, Michelle was taken to the hospital, where doctors discovered a brain tumor (Stage 2 Oligodendroglioma). What began as a terrifying emergency quickly became an ongoing medical journey that no one was prepared for.
Since the diagnosis, Michelle and her Mom have been facing countless appointments, tests, and treatment decisions, all while trying to process the emotional weight of such life-altering news. The focus right now is on treatment, recovery, and maintaining as much stability as possible during an incredibly uncertain time. Michelle also has Cerebral Palsy which complicates her diagnosis because the tumor borders the motor cortex affecting the right side of her body which due to her Cerebral Palsy is her strong side.
Currently Michelle is bedridden and unable to perform the most simple tasks. She has spent the past 4 weeks in and out of the hospital and will be going to long term care for rehab until her appointment at Mayo Clinic on January 23, 2026.
Unfortunately, this diagnosis also comes with a significant financial burden. The funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward living expenses like rent and utilities, travel expenses including gas and hotel for her appointments at Mayo Clinic, lost income for Michelle and her Mother who have not worked since late November, groceries, as well as cell phone and internet costs. Michelle is the one financially supporting her and her Mother with her disability check which does not even cover rent until her Mom can go back to work. These costs add up quickly, and the stress of finances should not be something they have to worry about while navigating this scary diagnosis.
Anyone who knows Michelle knows how kind, positive, selfless, and supportive she is. She has always shown up for the people she loves, and now her and her Mom need that same love and support in return. Every donation—no matter the size—will make a meaningful difference, and if you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read, for your generosity, and for keeping Michelle in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult chapter.
