Hope for Six

This past week our family was given some very unexpected and heartbreaking news. On Monday, Shaun  Caldwell was taken to Tawas St. Joseph ER for acute abdominal pain.  A CT scan revealed a kidney stone that required surgical intervention and he was transferred to Saginaw St. Mary's hospital where he underwent kidney stone surgery. Unfortunately, the CT scan also revealed  an enlarged spleen and multiple enlarged lymph nodes highly suggestive  of cancer. Shaun has since undergone additional testing, including lymph node biopsy and has received a diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. He returned home to his family on July 5 and is awaiting PET scan and consult with oncologist on July 13th to determine chemotherapy plan.  All of you who know Shaun, know that he is always offering a helping hand, a big smile, and constant humor.  He is a blessing to all whose path in life crosses with his. We created this account so that others may now be a blessing to Shaun, his wife Anna and their four wonderful children Gaven, Kayleigh, Eli and Lily while they navigate this course adjustment and  the many challenges, that they will have on this faith journey that lies ahead of them.  We ask first for prayers because we believe Our God is the Great and Almighty Healer and He hears and answers our prayers.  Secondly,  for those of you who are able, donations of any amount are sincerely appreciated as we expect there to be a significant financial impact  to this family, as not only is Shaun the primary breadwinner but cancer testing and treatment costs will be very burdensome.  Lastly, we ask that you please spread the word so that Shaun and his family will know that they are not alone on this journey but loved and "loved on"  beyond measure.
