<div>Hi, my name is Paula, and I’m a 32-year-old artist living with the challenges of psoriatic arthritis and endometriosis. My journey with these conditions began at 22, my twenties were consumed by the fight for my health. Due to years of misdiagnosis and medical oversight, it took six years to receive an accurate diagnosis, and by then, the damage to my body is irreversible.

<div>I’ve undergone a hip replacement and live with permanent damage to my jaw and hips. My condition has affected nearly every aspect of my life, but I continue to fight for my health, independence, and passion as an artist. While some of my joints have sustained irreversible damage, others, like my spine and hands, can still be preserved with the right care.

<div>As an artist, my hands are my tool for living. Creating art is not just how I earn a living, it’s essential to my mental health. Chronic illness is isolating and overwhelming, but art keeps me grounded and gives me a sense of purpose.

<div>Unfortunately, in Croatia, the therapies I urgently need are not covered by health insurance. These include physical therapy, psychological support, and other specialized treatments that are critical to managing my pain, improving mobility, and preventing further joint damage. Without these interventions, my ability to work and sustain myself will be severely impacted.
