Fighting back again Parkinson's disease through boxing probably sounds like a crazy concept. But...
Various studies in the 1980s and 1990s supported the notion that rigorous exercise, emphasizing gross motor movement, balance, core strength, and rhythm, could favorably impact range of motion, flexibility, posture, gait, and activities of daily living. More recent studies, most notably at Cleveland Clinic, focus on the concept of intense “forced” exercise, and have begun to suggest that certain kinds of exercise may be neuro-protective, i.e., actually slowing disease progression.

Because of the generous support of so many, Katie and I were able to attend the Rock Steady Boxing training this past September. Something I wasn't even sure would be possible. Now that we have obtained our certifications, we are continuing to more forward to officially bring this fight, for those dealing with Parkinson's Disease, in the Chester County, PA and New Castle County, DE area!
We are diligently working on the details associated with being able to start classes, which include things like liability insurance. While I am confident that we can move forward in the position we are in, we would like to ask once more for you to share this mission with others in the hopes in the even they may feel led to give.
If you have already given, please do not feel like you need to give again. Just keep sharing, you never know who this may reach, and if you are one of the may battling Parkinson's disease, please know that we are in your corner and looking forward to fighting along side of you very soon!
