Hope for Noah
Donation protected
Back in September, after what appeared to be an insignificant cyst near his left ear, 15 year old Noah Abbott was diagnosed with an extremely rare blood cancer called Histiocytic Sarcoma. This is such a rare cancer that there is limited research to support a formal treatment plan. Oncologists from all over the country have weighed in to create the most optimal chemotherapy plan in hopes of saving Noah’s life. Over the past four months, Noah has had three surgeries and four rounds of aggressive chemo which Noah has tolerated well with very minimal side effects.
To know Noah is to love Noah – he is a fighter with an outrageous sense of humor, he’s a strong-willed, rough and tumble, faith-driven young man, who has a passion for his family and has a lot of life left to live.
At 4am on Wednesday, December 21st, Noah woke Patrick up with 103 fever, sending them via ambulance to Children’s ER Dallas, where Noah was admitted to ICU with the Flu. Throughout the day, his blood pressure and heart rate have been critical and unstable but Noah and Patrick’s positivity have not waivered.
Whenever Patrick is asked “How are YOU doing?” his response is always a variation of the same message, “Our children look to us to handle life’s uncertainties.” For anyone that knows Patrick, they know he gives 1000% to his children, asking nothing in return. And as any of us can imagine, this is a parent’s worst nightmare, at what should be the most magical time of the year.
To such a selfless person who always puts his family and others before himself, I hope that we can all pitch in to help Patrick and his family in this extremely difficult time of need.
Whether it is for medical or daily expenses, I know that his family will deeply cherish any support you can offer.
