<div>My name is Mark holten, brother to mat. On Wednesday, 1st October, our beloved Mat was involved in a devastating car accident that has changed his life forever. He sustained a severe neck injury, resulting in paralysis from the waist down.

<div>He is currently receiving specialist care at Derriford Hospital, where he will remain for at least eight more weeks following a gruelling 14-hour surgery. After that, he will be transferred to Salisbury Rehabilitation Centre, where he’ll spend at least six months undergoing intensive therapy and rehabilitation to help him adjust to his new reality and regain as much independence as possible.

<div>This tragedy has deeply affected his wife Kristina and their three young children, who are doing their best to stay strong during this unimaginable time. The family were already facing financial challenges before the accident, and now the added strain of travel costs, accommodation, and food expenses to be by Mat’s side during his long recovery is becoming overwhelming.

<div>Anyone who knows Mat knows what a kind, selfless, and generous person he is — the type of man who would drop everything to help anyone in need. He has always been there for others without hesitation, and now it’s our turn to be there for him.
