<div>I'm reaching out with a heartfelt request on behalf of my dear friend, who is courageously battling cancer. Lani Arms is a 37-year old, non-smoker, and she is a mother of two young girls. She was first diagnosed with Squamos cell carcinoma in 2021 after trauma to her tongue. Since then, the doctors have been chasing it through her body using broad chemotherapy techniques.

<div>She has recently received a positive treatment plan through the Medias Cancer Clinic in Burghausen, Germany. This treatment will use Isolated Thoracic Perfusion with Chemofiltration.  Due to the localized dosage directly into the tumor site, this treatment is not available in the United States. Additionally, the advanced filtration of the drugs out of the body (similar to dialysis) is the key to protecting the rest of the body. This treatment has an 80% success rate at shrinking and stabilizing tumors, and it will be performed under the care of a 30-year veteran cancer doctor.

<div>Here is a detailed synopsis of her previous treatments:

<div>-surgery to remove part of her tongue, which was rebuilt using part of her forearm muscle

<div>-multiple rounds of radiation and chemotherapy

<div>Her last visit to the hospital left her with findings of cancer on her lower spine and in both lungs -- which are now the targets of the localized treatment.

<div>The total cost of the treatment plan is $55,000. This includes:

<div>-48 months of insurance for future complications

<div>The average cost of flights from Columbus, OH, to Munich is $1,750. This is the only additional fee to the treatment plan. This amount is far beyond what she and her family can manage alone, and that's why I'm turning to our community for help.
