On Saturday, November 7th, 2020 Jacob ONLY 16 years old was at his house with 2 of his friends, another 16 year old & 19 year old. After hearing a gunshot Jacob was found on his bedroom floor with a gunshot to the head. The 2 friends ran out of the house. Jacob was transported to St. Catherine's Hospital in East Chicago. He was then transported to The University of Chicago. Doctors said that the gunshot wound has caused so much damage for parts of his brain to die and swell up. The swelling of his brain has postponed any surgery. Now Jacob is fighting for his life. Placed on life support to keep him alive until they are able to try and operate... leaving the whole family completely devastated and lost! Heartbroken!

WHITING — A 15-year-old boy was hospitalized after Whiting police found him with a gunshot wound to the head late Saturday.
Police responded to the 1300 block of W. Fred Street around 9:10 p.m. for a report of a gunshot, Whiting Police Chief Don Greer said.
Officers located the boy and Whiting Fire Department EMS transported him to St. Catherine's Hospital in East Chicago. The boy was then transported to UChicago Medicine.
Detectives are investigating and no further information is available at this time, Greer said.
