<div>Dear family and friends…

<div>On Thursday, April 2nd, our world was unexpectedly turned upside down when my dad, Paul, suffered a stroke. Thanks to the incredibly fast thinking of his wife—my mom, Carla—who was able to recognize what was happening, he was able to get urgent medical care. We later received the frightening news that he had actually suffered two strokes: one that evening, and another just a few days prior.

<div>My dad was rushed by ambulance to the hospital in Salisbury. Once there, the doctors quickly determined he needed more advanced care, and he was life-flighted to a specialist hospital. 
</div>

<div>They discovered a blood clot in his brain and performed emergency surgery. While the surgeons were able to remove part of the clot, they unfortunately couldn't get it all. We also learned that his carotid artery is partially blocked and continues to throw blood clots, which is a very serious concern.

<div>Despite how terrifying this has been, the medical teams at both hospitals have been absolutely fantastic, and we are so grateful for their dedication to my dad's care and comfort.
</div>

<div>As my dad begins this difficult journey toward recovery, my parents are facing a very challenging new reality. We are asking for assistance to help them manage the mounting financial stress so my mom and I can focus entirely on being by his side. The funds raised will help cover the costs of gas and travel back and forth to the hospital, daily meals, regular household bills, and the unforeseeable expenses that will come with adjusting to his new way of life.
