Hope for Healing from Death, to New Beginnings!

On September 30th, we lost our beloved brother, Daniel Salas but gained living hope from the fire he held in his heart. We want to share his story with everyone.

Daniel Salas was a single father raising his two beautiful children, Haeani and Logan Salas, while battling through the struggles and challenges of life as a Dialysis patient for 13 years. As a dialysis patient, Daniel experienced life-threatening challenges such as bacterial infections, blood clots, and a triple bypass. There were also the financial struggles he faced due to his condition that did not allow him to work for his wages to provide the prosperous life he envisioned for his family. Still, his love drove his determination to live life and be the best father he could be for his children, allowing him to endure and persevere through anything life threw at him. After years of fighting to build a life in Texas, unforeseen challenges and obstacles prompted Daniel to make the bold decision to move to Nevada, with the hopes and dreams of starting a new life closer to family and reuniting his children with their estranged mother. The transition from Texas to Nevada was a smooth one. Hope was alive in their life, and the dream became a reality until Daniel experienced a series of health issues that caused him to be hospitalized. It initially started with chills, progressed to influenzas, then a rapid health decline due to a bacterial infection from a temporary dialysis catheter. The disease spread throughout his body that caused his lungs to fail. He was placed on a life support ventilator and was bed-bound. During his time in ICU, Daniel’s heart stopped during a CT scan. He was resuscitated and put back on the ventilator. The doctors could remove the ventilator tubes restricting his mouth at one point. The first words out of his mouth were, “I’m not going anywhere; I’m fighting for my kids.” Seeing him breathe and talk was a sigh of hope. Later, the doctors found that he was internally bleeding, his heart was weak, and the bacterial infection seeded into his spine, which formed two abscesses on his upper and lower vertebrae. All these issues conflicted with each other, which made recovery impossible. Daniel had faced these battles throughout his life, and this was no different, or so he thought. Throughout his struggles, Daniel fought with all his might. His love for his family continued to fuel the fire within him to live. Eventually, the life support tube was removed, and the chances of survival were less than 5%. We all thought it was his last breath, but by a miracle, Daniel could breathe about 70% with the support of a respirator. This allowed Daniel to hold onto life long enough to share his dying wishes and to say goodbye to his children and the family. Daniel walked through life with joy, happiness, anger, sadness, loneliness, frustration, hope, and faith, but what he has left behind in his wake is Love. We will honor him by carrying the same fire that burned inside his heart to Love. With your help, we can continue the new beginning Daniel, Haeani, and Logan started. The children will be left in the complete care of Derrick Salas(Brother) and Alicia Salas(Wife) in Washington state, where the children's mother also lives. This blessing will allow us to fulfill Daniel's wishes to help the children rebuild their relationship with their mother, Nicole Munoz, as she has moved to the state to start anew.

Your contributions will go towards helping to put Daniel to rest, Haeani and Logan’s travel expenses, establishing them in their new home, and providing any other essentials they will need on this new journey.

With our hearts in our hands, we thank you for any support provided!
