Hope For Future - Equipping Young Ladies

We need your help – Every little helps!

Hope For Future –
is a Kenyan based organisation that supports and equips young ladies with tools for a better future.

The support group started off with contributing funds towards the cost of funerals for families who lost members to HIV. But as Retro-Viral Drugs become more accessible to people in Kenya, more people were surviving. The focus then changed to supporting young girls, innocently born with HIV, through no fault of their own, who are often stigmatised.

The girls are treated as outcasts and have to find means of surviving.  For many, that means taking to the streets.

Unfortunately, one of these young ladies committed suicide as a result of been stigmatised by her own family.

Hope For Future intervenes early in the young girls’ lives by improving their living conditions, placing them in schools and providing them with basic Feminine Hygiene products, to keep them comfortable in school.

Very often, when young girls have their periods and do not have Sanitary Towels, they drop out of school. Hope For Future helps to keep the young ladies in school, in dignity.

---------

We currently support twenty-three (23) smart, young ladies. We cater for and source funds for their Primary, Secondary, Higher Education and University tuition fees.

Hope For Future helps to improve the existence of these young, vulnerable, affected, orphaned school girls, by getting them off the streets, improving their living conditions, providing them with accommodation, registering them back in school, providing basic needs like Sanitary Towels, Toiletries, Underwear, Clothes and other Feminine Hygiene products, throughout the year.

These provisions help to keep the young ladies in school and off the streets.

Our support keeps the young ladies from being lured into sex in exchange for basic hygiene needs like Sanitary Pads.

A regular supply of Sanitary Towels and Toiletries go a very long way to making our young ladies comfortable and to maintaining their dignity.

Funds for education keep the young ladies in school and off the streets.

We need a year’s supply of the following to support the current twenty-three young ladies in our care:

Every little helps - The average cost for the basic needs for a young girl is less than a couple of Dollars a day.

The funds will go towards the project's priority, which is ensuring the young ladies have a regular supply of Sanitary Pads, Toiletries, Bathing Soap, Body Lotion, Underwear, School Uniforms, and basic clothing. Paying their tuition in order for them to get a proper education and to ensure they are not lured on to the streets.

Educate a young girl and you educate a village.

We also need funds towards purchasing a computer, basic IT equipment, a website for visibility, personnel in order to develop income generating activities to sustain our mission and make us self-reliant.

Do support us in equipping young ladies for a bright future.

Every little helps.  Five, Ten, Fifteen, Twenty, Twenty-Five Dollars or more, goes a long way in the life and well-being of a young girl, innocently infected with HIV, through no fault of her own.

 --------

Due to the current Pandemic and Lockdown, schools were closed for nine-months in Kenya.

Schools are back on. We have been able to re-instate 17 young girls back in school.

We need funds as a matter of urgency to re-instate the other six girls back into school.

We need funds for their School Fees, Sanitary Pads, Toiletries, Bathing Soap, Body Lotion, Underwear, School Uniforms, basic clothing and provisions for school.

We need funds for Ruth to keep her in University. Her tuition fees for the semester are now due.

We want to ensure we have funds for this year, 2021, through which we intend to develop income generating activities for the future.

Hear from Ruth and Purity about Hope For Future means to them.

Ruth:

'My parents died when I was in Class 7, at the age of thirteen.

I was introduced to HOPE FOR FUTURE as an organisation that cared for young ladies.

When I started Secondary School years and all through my Secondary School years, Hope For Future made life comfortable for me by ensuring I had a regular supply of Sanitary Pads, Toiletries, Underwear and School Uniforms.

Their kindness and generosity has enabled me to complete my Secondary School education with flying colours.

I have secured a place at the University of Eldoret in Kenya to study Biology & Agriculture.

We appreciate your support of Hope For Future and we look forward to reciprocating this assistance to other people in need.

Thank you, Hope For Future.

Purity:

'
I was born outside wedlock and live with that stigma. I currently live with my Maternal Grand Mother.

I am lucky enough to have the Catholic Church pay my Tuition Fees.

Hope For Future made life bearable for me by providing me with School Uniforms, Bathing Soap, Body Lotion, Sanitary Towels and other basic feminine products.

Thank you, Hope for Future.

Please support Hope For Future by contributing to our organisation.

Many thanks!

Educating a girl is educating a village.

By supporting and educating us young ladies, we will definitely reciprocate the gesture by educating other youngsters.

Sooner or later, every child in Kenya would be safe, educated and not stigmatised.

Please support us - Every little helps.

Thank you very much.
