Hope for Emy ♥

Not sure where to begin with this… We understand that we cannot do this alone. Therefore we are reaching out for help to our friends and community of Burnet!

As you all know, Emy had a few complications in her meeting with the Immigration Officer and has not been able to come back to her family since September 7th. If you knew Emy, you know that she is a key person in our community, passionate about volunteering her time for non-profit events like Children’s Day, SMART Smiles, HARTH Foundation and others. She is also part of our Hispanic Ministry at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. Emy received her GED this year and was preparing get her college education. She is the most dedicated mother I know, involved in all the children’s activities, focused on their education and wellbeing.

We miss her dearly. The lawyer has been working diligently but the process takes a minimum of 4 months to accept paperwork. Emy is shattered at the thought being far from the kids and home. The children are devastated and so is her husband, Manuel. They’ve already traveled twice to Mexico so the kids can hug mom and recharge their energy to start the week all over again. The two little ones, Christopher and Samantha still don’t understand what is going on. We know God is in control and we are praying that this is only temporary but the funds are running low for the family. Keep the Hernandez Family in your prayers. This situation is mentally exhausting for many of us that are close to them, but I can’t imagine the burden that her family is going through. By doing this GoFundMe account we are trying to relieve the financial burden on the family. All donations will go to the Hernandez’s to help them pay for legal fees and travel for the kids to see Mama Emy.
We also ask for help in writing a letter to your Texas Senators and/or Congressmen/Congresswomen so that they can help us impulse her case. That would be of GREAT HELP. I’ve listed a few below:

John Cornyn (TX Senator)

221 West Sixth Street

Lloyd Doggett (Congressman)

Mailing Address:

More than anything, we ask that we start a prayer chain. We know prayer works, no doubt about that.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Please share this message with #BringEmyHome hashtag so we can start a movement. If you need to contact Emy direct, you can message me to get her contact info. If you have her #, send her messages of encouragement. ♥♥ Thank you and many blessings to All!
