Hope for Charmy Buck Sangsland

On Tuesday, October 9th, at the age of 38, Charmy suddenly and unexpectedly experienced cardiac arrest. Thankfully she was surrounded by family and loved ones who were able to quickly begin CPR while praying for her.
She was taken to St Al’s where they were able to stabilize her condition by putting her on ECMO, an external life support system. Her heart has been extensively damaged, but in her two days in the Cardiovascular ICU, she has made impressive progress.
On Wednesday, October 11th she was transported to the University of Utah to receive even greater specialized care. She is currently stable, but unconscious, and they are closely monitoring her for signs of brain damage. Her husband, Marv will be staying in Salt Lake indefinitely to be near her. Future treatment may include a heart transplant, but it’s still too early to know.
We are reaching out to our community to help cover expenses in the following ways:
•Gas, lodging and food for Marv
•Medical expenses: thankfully Charmy has good insurance, but costs for care of this magnitude are astronomical and her journey has only just begun
•Maintenance/utilities for their home in Boise. With both wage earners not working we want to ease Marv’s mind by taking care of things back at home
Everyone that knows Charmy loves her. It’s impossible not to! We can honestly say that she is never in a bad mood - she is always smiling and cheerful and lights up every room.
She is an amazing mom to three beautiful children - Olivia (10), Myles (8), and Sabrina (6) and has spent her life loving, serving and working with children either teaching in a classroom, ministering to them at church or playing with them on the playground.
