Hope Chennai Orphanage

Donativo protegido

A couple of years ago I visited an orphanage in Chennai called the Hope Public Charitable Trust. Mum and I were able to spend the morning with many disadvantaged children and were able to brighten up their day a little with some sweets we had brought along. A lot of these kids were found abandoned at railway stations and have had both mental and physical impairments for much of their lives.

I know how lucky I feel to live in Australia where Covid has been whilst challenging not on a par with the situation faced in other less fortunate parts of the world and I know how easy it is to take for granted that I never have to think about where the next meal is coming from.

The 2nd Cove wave is making life very difficult for the orphanage. They are in need of basic provisions and food to help feed children across two sites in Chennai. This amounts to about 30,000 rupees which is approximately $500 Australian Dollars. I know that with a little help from my friends, colleagues (past and present) and family we could raise this amount and help those in need.

I hope to have kindled the generous nature that resides within you.
