Who Are We?
We are Progetto A.M.I.C.O., an association of Italian Christian healthcare professionals that offers free medical care to people living in poverty and social hardship. Our activities are always accompanied by a message of hope, to remind our patients that they have immense value—not only in our eyes, but above all in God’s eyes. Our organization is an official member of the I.C.M.D.A. (International Christian Medical and Dental Association).
We believe that everyone has the right to healthcare without discrimination based on race, religion, social status, political views, or any other distinction.
What Do We Do?
For over 4 years, we have traveled across Italy with two mobile clinics—one for general medicine and one for dentistry—to care for people in need and, through treatment and attentive listening, also share the message of the Gospel.
All of this has been provided completely free of charge to our patients, thanks to the voluntary service of our healthcare professionals.
Over the years, we have traveled thousands and thousands of kilometers, and we are present in Italian cities almost every weekend.
In 2025 alone, we carried out over 1,500 medical visits and 100 free dental procedures, encountering tired eyes, real needs, lonely people—yet not forgotten by God. Every visit is a concrete way of saying: “God loves you. You are not alone.”
Why Do We Need You (and Why Is It Urgent)?
For about a year now, we have been facing a situation that puts everything we do at risk: Italian health authorities have required us to purchase a physical outpatient clinic in order to renew the permits for our mobile clinics.
If we fail to do so, all our mobile outreach activities will have to stop.
In order to continue, it is essential to have a multispecialty outpatient clinic: a stable, safe, and compliant facility that will become a point of reference for caring not only for acute conditions, but also for the chronic illnesses of our patients.
The clinic is located 5 minutes from Milan, ready for purchase. One decisive step is missing: making it fully operational.
What Is This Fundraising Campaign For?
This fundraising campaign is dedicated to renovation work and equipping the outpatient clinic, such as:
• Dental chair with suction system
• Compressor and X-ray equipment
• Sterilization room
• Other essential medical and electromechanical equipment
The total amount needed is €145,000. Our Italian supporters are expected to raise €50,000 by the end of May.
Goal: €95,000 by June 10
This deadline is real: it means continuing—or stopping altogether.
All collected funds will go directly to Progetto A.M.I.C.O. and will be used for the renovation and setup of the outpatient clinic. If there is any surplus, it will still be allocated to other necessary expenses related to the clinic (administrative procedures, bureaucracy, purchase of the property, notary fees, etc.).
Adrian’s Story: a story that reminds us why we do what we do.
Adrian is a man from Eastern Europe who arrived in Italy in 2018 seeking work. During his first months of adapting to his new country, he noticed that his voice was changing. He went to the Emergency Department and was diagnosed with aggressive laryngeal cancer.
The laryngectomy and radiotherapy he underwent completely took away his voice. This led to deep social isolation, and he was never able to find a job. Eventually, he began living on the streets. Someone told him that A.M.I.C.O.’s mobile clinic was organizing a free cardiovascular screening day, and he showed up for a visit.
Our radiologist, through an echo color Doppler, diagnosed complete right carotid stenosis and 90% stenosis on the left side. He was advised to be hospitalized due to the severe risk of cerebral infarction (stroke), but he replied that he was not interested—because he felt that his life had no value.
In the following months, volunteers visited him often to remind him that he was precious.
Eventually, Adrian agreed to undergo surgery, and a place was found for him in a shelter house run by some of our partner missions.
This story reminds us that there is no pain so deep that God cannot rebuild from it.
Every suffering can become a doorway to something good: healing, listening, hope.
And to keep this light alive, we need a stable and safe place—in our case, a multispecialty outpatient clinic.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of our mission.
May God bless you!
