I was just stepping into one of the most joyful seasons of my life — celebrating love, family, and new beginnings — when I received a life-changing diagnosis: invasive breast cancer. Not just one tumor, but multiple tumors in my right breast, including two different types of cancer — one of which is HER2-positive, a more aggressive form. It was a shocking and rare diagnosis that turned my world upside down.

Because of the complexity of my cancer, I now face a full mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction, followed by targeted therapies to ensure the cancer is fully treated. I also live with diabetes and neuropathy, which makes surgery and healing more complicated and requires additional medical care and monitoring.

I’m doing everything I can to prepare physically, emotionally, and spiritually — but the truth is, this process comes with financial burdens I wasn’t prepared for. As a small business owner, time away means loss of income, and the costs go beyond what insurance covers.
