Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your kind and generous contributions to Julian’s GoFundMe fundraiser. We are overwhelmed by the amount of support you have shown us over the months. We are tremendously touched and blessed by each of you, and offer our sincere thanks and appreciation for your love and care. Thank you!

Unfortunately, Julian’s battle ended last Sunday, December 5th. Julian passed away peacefully in the early morning, surrounded by his family. In the days leading up to his last breath, Julian had been experiencing constant pain from coughing and had difficulty sleeping. We are grateful that he is now pain-free and resting with his Father in heaven. Thank you for all your prayers and care over the many months. It has made a difference knowing that you are with us in this journey.

We would like to continue the fundraising campaign going forward to collect donations to support one of Julian’s last wishes – to contribute money toward pediatric cancer research. All contributions to the GoFundMe account from this point forward will be collected and donated toward pediatric cancer research as a one-time gift in Julian’s memory. The goal is to raise at least $10,000.

Julian was diagnosed two years ago at the age of 13 with acute myeloid leukemia. Prior to his diagnosis, he was an avid competitive swimmer, training five days a week. He is the only child of Jennifer and Dennis.

After he was diagnosed, he was immediately admitted to the Alberta Children's Hospital and started chemotherapy. Due to various challenges and complications, Julian ended up staying in the hospital for almost 6 months; his mother stayed by his side 24/7 most days and his father, being the only breadwinner of the family, spent every possible minute at hospital when he didn’t have work obligations.

It seemed as if the cancer was in remission when he completed his chemo in August 2020. However, the cancer was found to have returned in November 2020. He then underwent a stem cell transplant in February 2021 with his mother as the donor who was a "half match". 

Unfortunately, his cancer was found to have relapsed a second time in July 2021. He is now waiting to undergo a second stem cell transplant. They have not found a suitable donor yet.

As you can imagine, this has been tough on Julian and his parents both physically and emotionally. It also has been tough on them financially.

兩年前，13歲的 Julian 被診斷患有急性白血病。在確診之前，他是一名游泳運動健將，每星期訓練五天。他是Jennifer 和 Dennis的獨生孩子。

他在 2020 年 8 月完成化療時，癌症的確是短暫受到控制。但癌症在 2020 年 11 月時被發現復發。此後，Jennifer以一半匹配的骨髓捐贈，Julian在 2021 年 2 月接受了幹细胞移植手術。

 
在 2021 年 7 月，他的癌症被發现第二次復發。他現正等待接受第二次幹细胞移植。可是，他們還没有找到合適的捐贈者。
