Hoof Crisis: Help Summer Get Treatment

UPDATE Surgicare in Brandon agrees we need to have a piece of bone removed. If no complications and can do it standing $1200-1400 if have to lay her down another $600-1000. PLUS FARRIER cost. Reality other clinics my vet has spoken to we need $3,000-4,000 walking in door to allow for the unexpected. I have owned Summer, a paint, for 10 years. On 10/30, we found a roofing nail in her right front hoof. We suspect hurricane Milton stirred things up because no roofing work has been done in 6 years. My vet and I have been treating her at home. It has become apparent she needs to go to the clinic for the best chance of recovery. The infection is not clearing; we suspect a piece of bone broke off. The X-ray showed a suspicious area. We couldn’t get any better X-ray, even heavily sedated. It was an interesting feat just to get what we got. She was on Baytril for 30 days and is now on SMZ. Please help me save her. I am waiting on an estimate from the clinic. It’s going to be at least $1,000. Her current vet bills total $1,033.
