We’d like to introduce you to the Sample Family.
This is Jill and her two beautiful children, Logan and Emma.
Jill is a single-mom who has suddenly and unexpectedly lost two of her most valued supports and loved ones – her mother, Susan, and her grandmother, who was known by those closest to her as “Shaba.”
Jill is an incredible and strong woman and now has been left to care for her two children and her 17-year-old niece. She is not one to ask for help. But we need your help…
Up until last week the Sample family comprised of Shaba (Grandma), Susan (Jill's mom & Erika's guardian), Jill, Erika (Niece), Logan and Emma (Jill's children).
They were a formidable group of women , 4 generations under one roof supporting each other every step of the way.
Shaba and Susan and Erika had lived together for 10 years, Jill and her beautiful children had moved in with them 2 years ago.
Shaba passed away peacefully on Thursday 15th March at the age of 95.
Later that day Susan fell ill and was taken to hospital.
Susan passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on Saturday 17th March.
The family of 6 became a family of 4 in 48 hours leaving Jill, Erika, Logan and Emma in shock and sadness.
At this time the costs of both funerals, the running of the house, Erika's high school graduation in June and all of the regular costs of living for a family of four now rest soley on Jill's shoulders.
Jill does not currently drive. Her mom, Susan, helped with the school run and was her main source of childcare so that she could pursue her career in supporting children with special needs.
Jill is my best friend but really she is more like family.
I am honoured to be part of her life and I would love to help support her and her family whilst she starts this unexpected chapter.
We wish we could shower her with money and everything she needs at this time but we can’t do it alone, and that is why we are asking for your help.
